SZA recently shared insights from her experience at a silent retreat.
She and her mother, Audrey, spent 10 days at the retreat in India, which proved to be a life-changing journey.
βNot everything needs to be voiced,β she remarked to Essence during the 67th Grammys this past weekend. βWaiting is of great significance, and much of the drama and chaos we create for ourselves depends on our capacity to transcend that pain. If you seek joy earnestly, it will eventually reveal itself.β
βEven amidst the darkest and most chaotic moments of life and trauma, especially now with the country in such turmoil and everyone experiencing distress, itβs crucial to dive within and discover that solitude,β SZA continued. βAnd to radiate that inner peace into the world [β¦]. My hope is to cultivate more peace within myself so I can extend it to those around me as much as possible.β
Guided by Sadhguru, SZA posted images from the βSamyama Experienceβ on Instagram.
βFor my Samyama experience. No phone, no mirrors, no eye contact for over 8 days (these pictures were taken before and after the program lol).. as a habitual talker, it was quite a mind-bending experience π ..but eventually, I found clarity π§πΎββοΈ. Upon returning, I faced an avalanche of information, from global events to my own personal and professional matters,β her update stated. βYet, itβs all beginning to settle both quietly and vibrantly. My heartfelt gratitude to @isha.foundation, @sadhguru, @chekothari, and every volunteer from Isha who cared for my mother and me. The love I have for this journey and life is beyond words. Namaskaram.β ππΎ
This upcoming Sunday (Feb. 9), SZA is set to break her silence once more as she joins Kendrick Lamar on stage for the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans.
