North West is embarking on a new phase of her musical journey, collaborating with FKA Twigs on her upcoming album Eusexa, just about a year after her initial appearance on Ye‘s Vultures 1.
At only 11 years of age, North, the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, showcases her rapping skills in Japanese on the track “Childlike Things,” which is the eighth song from FKA Twigs’ fresh 11-track release that came out on Friday (Jan. 24). With an energetic electronic dance vibe, North delivers an engaging verse, translated through Google: “Hello, I’m North/ From California to Tokyo/ Jesus the King/ Praise God/ Jesus is the only true God.”
The Skims entrepreneur’s firstborn is also credited as a songwriter for the piece. Kardashian excitedly shared the release on her Instagram Story, posting a link with the enthusiastic caption, “@fkatwigs ft NORTH out now!”
“Childlike Things” represents North’s foray into music that isn’t under Ye’s umbrella, who had previously worked with her on “Talking” from Vultures 1 earlier in 2024. In the same year, Ye released Vultures 2, which included North on “Bomb,” accompanied by Chicago West. Twigs also has a noteworthy connection to Ye, having collaborated on Ty Dolla $ign’s 2020 hit, “Ego Death,” alongside the rapper and Skrillex.
North’s new track arrives shortly after Ye’s Instagram update, where he revealed that he’s been guiding his eldest daughter through her musical path. In a clip, Ye provides the young artist with guidance on her rapping skills. “This little girl made me love music again,” he stated in another post, along with a photo of North next to a keyboard. He remarked, “She requested that I create beats for her, so I got back on the ASR.” “I crafted beats for her album and manually chopped every beat for BULLY.”
