Method Man and Kelly Rowland are set to appear in the upcoming romantic comedy Relationship Goals, according to a report from Deadline. This film is inspired by Michael Toddβs New York Times bestseller Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage, and Sex. Toddβs compelling sermon series was a viral sensation, remaining on the bestseller list for 13 weeks and reaching No. 1 on Amazon. The film is set to be released by Amazon MGM Studios.
Linda Mendoza, known for her work on the sitcom series Harlem and Survival of the Thickest, will direct the project based on a screenplay by Laura Lekkos.Β
Also joining the cast are Robin Thede and Annie Gonzalez.
The description notes that Relationship Goals βis a humorous and uplifting romantic comedy about searching for enduring love and maintaining a healthy relationship through every phase of courtship.β
Prior to landing this role in Relationship Goals, Method Man starred in all four seasons of the acclaimed drama Power Book II: Ghost on Starz. He has garnered three NAACP Image Awards for βBest Supporting Actor in a Drama Seriesβ for his role as attorney Davis MacLean. Additionally, he appears in Bad Shabbos, On the Come Up on Paramount+, and will star in Maude Apatowβs directorial debut Poetic License, as well as making a guest appearance in Season 2 of Poker Face on Peacock.Β
Rowland’s acting portfolio includes leading roles in Netflixβs Tyler Perry film Mea Culpa, Think Like A Man, and Freddy vs. Jason, along with The Curse of Bridge Hollow. She has produced and starred in Merry Liddle Christmas Baby, and has made guest appearances on several shows like Girlfriends, Empire, American Soul, Being Mary Jane, and L.A.βs Finest. Furthermore, she executive produced her docuseries Chasing Destiny and co-produced a digital series titled Milk + Honey alongside Idris Elba and Issa Rae.Β
