Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have released their much-anticipated collaborative album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, on February 14, 2025. This 21-track project showcases their unique creative partnership, merging Drake’s reflective lyricism with PARTYNEXTDOOR’s trademark melodies.
Among the most notable tracks on the album is “Gimme a Hug,” where Drake addresses previous controversies and rivalries in the industry. He brushes aside critics who are eager for his decline, rapping, “Funny how it’s only broke [expletive] waiting on the boy’s obituary.”
Additionally, he takes aim at Joe Budden by alluding to the rapper’s former relationship with Melyssa Ford: “Melyssa Ford, you a legend from The 6, hate to see you with a [expletive] sucker.” This verse highlights Drake’s determination to rise above the drama while asserting his supremacy in the rap scene.
The release of the album comes after months of eager speculation, which was ignited by a sneak peek during PARTYNEXTDOOR’s Sorry I’m Outside tour in Toronto last August. Both artists had teased the collaboration, with Party proclaiming one of their songs as a standout. Just days before the launch, they unveiled the cover art, shot in front of Mississauga’s iconic Absolute World twin towers.
$ome $exy $ongs 4 U marks Drake’s first full-length project since his lyrical battles with Kendrick Lamar in 2024. Meanwhile, PARTYNEXTDOOR’s last release was PartyNextDoor 4 in April 2024. Fans can now enjoy the album on all major streaming platforms.
