Suge Knight has asserted that a fierce confrontation occurred between 2Pac and Snoop Dogg just before 2Pac’s untimely death, triggered by a radio interview. In a recent discussion with The Art of Dialogue, the former CEO of Death Row Records reflected on a significant moment between the two legendary rappers after the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards.
Knight noted that the tensions escalated after 2Pac overheard Snoop expressing his openness to collaborating with Biggie and Diddy—2Pac’s main adversaries at that moment. “Fast forward, we’re back at the hotel. Everyone’s in their rooms,” Knight recalled. “I had a special room, and only Pac knew the number. I’m in there with company, just relaxing, and then—bam!—someone’s knocking on the door. I quickly put on my boxers, open it up, and Pac bursts in. He’s all fired up, asking if I have a radio. He turns it on, and we hear Snoop speaking.”
Snoop’s remarks ignited 2Pac’s anger. “Snoop’s on the radio saying Pac’s on some bullsht,” Knight said. “That he’d be open to a song with Biggie, a song with Puffy, work with anyone. Pac was furious because he had deep loyalty to those guys. He always supported them. He exclaimed, ‘Man, I put everybody on Death Row. I featured everyone on my album. And now this dude gets on the radio and says f** me? He’s siding with them now? It’s on.’”
Knight thought the situation would calm down by the next morning, but when morning came, 2Pac was ready to confront Snoop. “When we got downstairs, Pac went after Snoop,” he revealed. “Pac charged at him, Snoop took off running, and I had to intervene. I stepped in and told him, ‘We’re not going to act like fools in New York. We’ll handle this when we get back home.’”
This isn’t the only rumored altercation involving 2Pac that has come to light recently. In an episode of The Untold, a series that reveals behind-the-scenes industry narratives, comedian Tommy Too Smooth recounted another supposed clash—this time featuring 2Pac and Michael Jackson.
According to Tommy, this incident occurred while 2Pac was dating Kidada Jones, the daughter of music icon Quincy Jones. The pair attended an event where Michael Jackson was also present, and the pop legend reportedly felt uncomfortable with 2Pac’s treatment of Kidada.
“2Pac was out partying, being disrespectful towards Kidada, yelling at her, telling her to shut up,” Tommy said. “Michael stepped in and said, ‘Yo, you can’t talk to her like that.’”
